A correct and firm historical back ground can not be claimed for many games in general and billiard (polo on the table)
in particular. the game has been played for centuries by millions till now around the world.
Was the game played indoors or outdoors? Was it played by sticks or bare hands? how many balls did it have?
Was it made up by a bored kid or scholars?
Different nations give it a different name. Persians called it “polo”. How many other name does it have?
Poets and writers mentioned the game through their work and used it’s terms often and painters drew it’s scene which
can be taken as a solid proof for the games popularity.
The game was introduced to Moslem Spain and went deep in Europe and got to America many centuries later.
Some say the game was brought to England by people coming from India but others reject this even in Europe, namely French.
