Dubai To Host Asian C'ship On May 1-10

The United Arab Emirates Billiards & Snooker Association has confirmed that it will be hosting the 2008 Asian Snooker Championship in Dubai on May 1-10.

The confirmation came during a very successful visit by ACBS Secretary, Syed Mahboob, recently.
The venue for the Championship will be the impressive Dubai Police Club, where the host association will be installing eight match and four practice tables.
The tables to be used for the Championship are Wiraka M1, with the cloth being Strachan 6811 and balls being Aramith Tournament Champion.
The participating players, officials and referees will be staying at the posh Grand Moov Hotel.
During the trip, Mahboob assured the leading officials of the host association of all possible technical support from ACBS and was confident that the event will be a major success.
Last time, Dubai hosted the Asian Snooker Championship was in 1997.
